When the aspens are greened up and the trails are at their most lush, Aspen transforms from winter wonderland into idyllic summer getaway for the adventurous traveler and lover of the outdoors. Our Aspen team here at Cuvée is in full summer mode, orchestrating fabulous experiences for our guests during these warmer months.
Wonder what a full week in Aspen might look like this summer? Here’s a sneak peek into the brilliant minds of our destination managers here at Cuvée as they share with us a 7 day itinerary that perfectly marries luxury and the natural beauty of the Rockies.
Day 1: I’ve Got a New Altitude
You are picked up at the airport by our comfortable private transportation. When you arrive at your chalet, enjoy a hearty welcome from the Cuvée team, who already have your favorite cocktails mixed up and a generous selection of chef-prepared bites waiting. This is exactly the refresher you need to get your Aspen vacation started on the right foot.
Still feeling sluggish? Not for long, thanks to Cuvée’s in-chalet IV bar. With a jolt of hydration, your adjustment to Aspen’s high altitude conditions is that much easier.
Finish off the evening with delicious authentic French cuisine at Cache Cache. This chic bistro, featured in Travel + Leisure, The New York Times, InStyle, Glamour, and a slew of other publications, will fully immerse you in the smells and flavors of Aspen; it specializes in locally-sourced ingredients served with utmost care.
Day 2: A River Runs Through It
Wake to the clean mountain air and a beautiful chef-prepared breakfast customized to your tastes. After that, grab your waders—it’s time to head to the river. A local fly fishing guide accompanies you to the Roaring Fork River to show you the gold medal spots for catching trout. At this time of year, you can reel in all kinds: brown, rainbow, and maybe even some mountain whitefish—the Roaring Fork is home to some of the biggest whitefish in the world. After a zen morning spent fly fishing, enjoy a chef prepared lunch, featuring a fine wine and locally sourced ingredients, served to you right on the riverbank.
This evening’s dinner is a chef-prepared masterpiece cooked to perfection right in the villa by Cuvée’s own Chef Jimena, who recently debuted Cuvée’s custom menu for Aspen’s Food and Wine 2023.
Day 3: From Horse Pose to Horseback
The morning begins with a refreshing yoga class in the comfort of your Cuvée chalet. Salute the sun (why not outdoors?) while taking in the natural splendor that surrounds you. Then, enjoy a private in-chalet breakfast: a build-your-own omelet bar and refreshing wellness smoothies packed with nutrients that will keep you going all morning.
Put on your Stetson and your cowboy boots, because you’re hitting the trails today—on horseback. As you wend your way through the outback on the East Maroon Trail, you’ll catch spectacular views of local wildlife, an array of wildflowers along Maroon Creek, and gorgeous peaks overlooking the lake. This is Colorado at its most timeless.
A day spent on horseback demands a delicious dinner afterwards. Tonight you dine at Casa Tua, whose menu features organic, ethically sourced ingredients and an extensive wine list.
Day 4: Swing for the Mountains, Reach Peak Relaxation
Today you head out early for a high-altitude game at the Aspen Golf Club. Ranked the #1 municipal golf course in Colorado, it allows you to, quite literally, swing for the mountains, thanks to its breathtaking views of the Continental Divide, Pyramid Peak, Mt. Hayden, Independence Pass, Hunter Creek Valley, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk Mountain. As an Audubon-certified Cooperative Sanctuary, it is also home to hundreds of species of native birds you might spot during your game.
A hearty lunch is a necessity after such a full morning. Grab a delicious Wagyu double cheeseburger and truffle fries on the mountainside patio at Ajax Tavern, where people watching is a must.
When you return to the chalet, a masseuse is waiting to give you a relaxing massage treatment. Go ahead; take a little nap afterwards. We’ll wait.
Enjoy a superb dinner at Betula, one of our Aspen team’s favorite dining spots. This spot, beloved by those in the know, is French and Pan-American cuisine served with a distinctly chic vibe.
Day 5: Travel Back in Time and Catch Some New Tunes
After your chef-prepared in-chalet breakfast, prepare to step back in time. Today you visit the Ashcroft Ghost Town. In the early 1880s, at the height of the prospecting boom, Ashcroft was bigger than Aspen and filled with prospectors hoping to strike it rich. Now, long after that brief boom went bust, it’s a fascinating historical site—abandoned saloons, post office, and hotel—that gives visitors a view right into the past.
Dinner this evening is delicious Italian at Campo di Fiori, whose much-loved patio and summer menu full of fresh-made pastas and local veg make for an absolutely perfect Aspen evening.
After dinner, it’s time to rock (or, sit back and enjoy some tunes) at Belly Up, Aspen’s renowned pint-sized venue that plays host to major acts from across genres.
Day 6: A View from the Top
It’s hard to believe because the time has gone so quickly, but this is your final full day in Aspen. Best to seize the day, starting with bright chef-made wellness smoothies and a hearty breakfast.
Today you take in the natural beauty of Aspen, starting with a picturesque hike through the famed trails of Maroon Bells, with accompanying snacks provided by us. The most photographed site in Aspen, the Maroon Bells peaks and the pristine valleys that surround them are instantly recognizable—and, yet, you haven’t really seen them until you’ve been there, among those dizzying wildflowers. Every view on this superb hike is photo-worthy.
After your hike, stop in to Mi Chola, one of Aspen’s favorite cantinas, for a well-deserved margarita and tacos.
What would a trip to Aspen be without a view from the mountain? After lunch, take a gondola ride right up to the top, where you’ll find the world’s highest official disc golf course and several walking trails, as well as what must be one of the world’s most picturesque spots for enjoying a cocktail, taking in glorious nature as far as the eye can see, and reflecting on your wonderful Aspen vacation.
Upon your return to the chalet, you’re treated to a massage to help you unwind from the day’s adventures. After that, it’s a superb chef-prepared private dinner.
Day 7: Until Next Time
You’ve reached the end of your Aspen vacation—this time. After a chef-prepared breakfast, you are transported to the airport to catch your flight home. But, a great vacation always leaves you both satisfied and wishing for more—and there’s lots more on offer thanks to Cuvée’s numerous properties worldwide. We’ll welcome you back with open arms the next time you’re in search of an idyllic escape.
