Crafted amongst the island’s natural lava and lush oasis, it’s no wonder why the senior circuit calls this course the “best on tour.” Perched above the Kona coast, over 7,100 yards of immaculate greens practically touching the ocean inspire epic golf play. The Big Island’s always idyllic weather combined with world-class amenities at the Four Seasons complete an unparalleled experience that will have you saying- aloha.
Below, a list of the top four holes surrounded by Hawaii’s stunning views.
Signature Hole
17th Hole
The Jack Nicklaus Signature Hole puts golfers right next to the open water of the Pacific. This 164-yard par 3 is the face of the golf course, winding amongst black lava-rocks and large bunkers challenging most players, but easily forgiven due to its iconic backdrop.
Best Par 3
12th Hole
At this hole, golfers find a bunker dead-center of the green, similar to Riviera’s famous pot bunker on hole 6. A well-placed tee shot is required to navigate these 167 yards, beautifully framed by white sand and lava fields.
Best Par 4
16th Hole
Near the end of the course, guests play 440 yards towards the ocean, not including extra yardage due to the customary winds. Two big shots are needed; this hole has a slight dogleg right towards deep bunkers and a natural low on the left of the green. Prepare yourself for a memorable reward at the ocean-side pin.
Visionary Finale
18th Hole
One of the prettiest in golf, the home hole tees off on a platform split between lava rock and an ancient Hawaiian fish pond. This 410-yard par 4 is a dogleg left lined with bunkers reaching the famous amphitheater and clubhouse, a picture-perfect finale to this seaside course.
