Stylianos Sakalis, born and raised in Thessaloniki (Greece) and star Michelin chef of Spaltenna Castle restaurant.
Since he was a child, he has demonstrated a passion and aptitude for cooking, so much so that – after studying at the classical high school – he decides to give in to his dream, attending the Culinary Arts faculty at the DCT College in Lucerne in Switzerland. On his return to Greece, the rise is unstoppable: from the kitchens of some of the most important 5-star hotels in Athens, in Corfu to the Etruscan restaurant of Ettore Botrini, considered the best Chef in Greece; then abroad, first in London in the three-star Gordon Ramsey Restaurant of the world-famous chef of the same name, then at the Maze in Mayfair.
In 2010, he once again welcomes the call of his Mediterranean, but this time in Italy at Castel Monastero, a corner of Tuscany that he falls madly in love with and which he will be Executive Chef since 2016, and from which he leaves only periodically to intensify his experience in some great kitchens such as the Trianon Palace in Versailles (2 * Michelin), Perbellini in Verona (2 * Michelin) and the Fat Duck in Blumenthal (3 * Michelin).
